12/8/11 Boat ride on Yellow Waters at Kakadu NP

Today I did a big wash - sheets, towels, clothing and I even scrubbed my sneakers outside and inside. They were getting to the stage that you knew I was coming before I arrived! Now we both smell so much better!

This afternoon we took the sunset boat ride on Yellow Waters wetland which includes part of the South Alligator River.

The sky was blue, the water was very calm and the reflections were magnificent.

We saw a pair of Jabiru, Australia's only stork.  They posed for quite a long time while everyone took photos.  The female is smaller but is most easily distinguished by the yellow band around her eye.

The boat ride is timed for sunset viewing across the waters of the wetland.
